Event Details: NCVAN is hosting the 4th Annual 5K Walk/Run Stride for Survivors on Saturday, April 19, 2014. This is a USATF certified 5K route through historic Oakwood and scenic downtown Raleigh. It will be timed by Young & Associates and there will be a 100m Bunny Run for children at the close of the 5K. The start/finish for the 5K is the Crime Victim Memorial Garden (106 E. Lane St.), a place where loved ones have engraved the names of the crime victims into bricks that form a path. Many participants form teams in honor of victims and survivors and wear signs or t-shirts with the names of their loved ones and friends. We invite runners, walkers, crime victims, survivors, family members, concerned citizens and all those who would like participate in honor of all crime victims to the 2014 event.
