NCVAN launched National Crime Victims' Rights Week on April 20, 2013, with its 3rd Annual NCVAN 5K Stride for Survivors Walk/Run Supporting Crime Victims & Survivors. This is a USATF certified 5K route through historic Oakwood and scenic downtown Raleigh. The start/finish for the 5K is the Crime Victim Memorial Garden (106 E. Lane St.), a place where loved ones of homicide victims have engraved the names of their loved ones into bricks that form a path. Many participants formed teams in honor of victims and survivors and wore signs or t-shirts with the names of their loved ones. We invite runners, walkers, crime victims, survivors, family members, concerned citizens and all those who would like participate in honor of all crime victims to the 2014 event.
